6 Week Kids Clay Club
For kids aged 8–12 | £150* per child | Fun, hands-on pottery sessions in Liverpool
Our Kids Clay Club is designed to inspire creativity and introduce children to the wonderful world of pottery. Whether your child loves getting messy, enjoys crafting, or just wants to try something new, these sessions are the perfect opportunity to explore clay in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs for 6 weeks, with weekly 1.5-hour sessions where kids will learn the basics of pottery, from hand-building to glazing, while creating their own unique masterpieces. Parents are welcome to join in for an additional fee if they'd like to share the experience with their child!
By the end of the course, kids will have a collection of finished pieces to proudly take home – mugs, bowls, and even sculptural creations!

What’s Included?
All Materials: Clay, tools, and glazes are provided.
Guided Lessons: Kid-friendly step-by-step instructions tailored to beginners.
Firing: All pieces will be fired and glazed, ready to take home after the course.
Small Groups: Maximum of 8 children per session to ensure individual attention.
Course Schedule:
Week 1: Getting Started – Pinch Pots & Fun Shapes
Introduction to clay and tools.
Kids will create simple pinch pots and fun, creative shapes like animals or ornaments.
Week 2: Coil Creations
Learn how to build with coils to create taller or larger pieces, such as pencil pots or small vases.
Add texture and details for a personal touch.
Week 3: Slab Building – Mugs & Bowls
Explore slab-building techniques to make flat-sided forms.
Kids will create their very own mugs or bowls, learning how to attach handles and decorate.
Week 4: Sculptural Fun
Get creative with free-form sculpting!
Kids can make imaginative designs like creatures, houses, or their own original ideas.
Week 5: Decorating & Underglazes
Introduction to underglazes and simple decorative techniques like carving and stamping.
Kids will decorate their earlier creations to prepare them for firing.
Week 6: Glazing & Finishing
Learn how to apply glaze to add colour and shine.
Add finishing touches to their pieces before the final firing.
Pricing:
Children (6-week course): £140 per child
Parent Add-On: £30 per parent per session (For parents who’d like to participate alongside their child, creating their own pieces during the session).
